A colour analysis only has to be done once in a lifetime, because our pigmentation, which is genetic, will never change. Our pigmentation determines our skin colour which will harmonize with some colours better than others.
Our genetics determine our body's shapes, proportions and height, and these details determine the style and cut of clothing that suit us best. Accepting and knowing our body type contributes to higher self-esteem.

A closet full of clothes and nothing to wear – sound familiar? The truth is that most of us, particularly women, wear only 20% of what is hanging in our closet. So why is this happening?
Wearing white in winter is often thought of as inappropriate, but when done properly it can add lightness to any dreary day. Choose winter fabrics like wool or cashmere in an off-white shade, which when worn in the winter is commonly known as winter white.
Allow yourself enough time in the morning to look well-groomed for work - every single day. Realize that the tiniest imperfections such as scuffed shoes, chipped nail polish and wrinkled clothing can add up and make you look unprofessional. When you know you look great, you’ll feel great and exude confidence all day long.
Don’t overdo it on accessories - we all know someone who wears too much jewellery, and with the sheer amount of rings on their fingers or bangles on their wrists - you can hear them before you see them. Keep it simple – less is more.
Testimonials
I had a huge amount of black clothes in my wardrobe and never realized how washed out they made me look until I stopped wearing them. I also thought I could wear more or less any colour, and I didn’t give much thought to emphasizing what looked BEST. Lynda really taught me to be more discriminating, choosing colours that made me come alive.

Madison had a wonderful time with you in your Manners Matter course. It was nice to see her so enthusiastic to teach me some new things. I noticed her posture was better that first day :) She was proud to teach her younger brother as well. We will definitely like to take that class again.

Even after having spent only a few hours with you, I still keep your advice in mind when dressing for work or shopping for new clothes. It helps a lot in simplifying the process for me and making it more enjoyable (or at least much less painful) than it otherwise would be. It's especially important for me to maintain an image of professionalism and respect and I've found that the simple tips you've given me allow me to achieve this easily and inexpensively.

When Lynda went through my wardrobe with me, her eye for what worked and what didn't work helped me tremendously. What remained became the 'bones' of my wardrobe and I felt as if a huge depressing burden had been lifted from my shoulders. It's like losing weight. It is so much easier now to make smarter fashion decisions. Now I get compliments on what I'm wearing.

Our organization, like many others, faced a challenge with our younger staff: how to define for them what proper business attire means in today's workplace. We turned to Lynda Jean and are delighted we did so. Lynda, through a "Lunch 'N Learn" session, brought down to earth, practical advice to our staff in a way that was informative without being condescending or crossing any human resources boundaries. I am pleased to be able to say that we had very positive feedback from our staff on Lynda's presentation and, equally importantly, we have noticed a definite improvement in our staff's attire.

We operate a first-class service to our High Net Worth clients and, consequently, it is critical that all of our various staff members are well trained in proper etiquette. Lynda Jean’s four-hour tutorial was a very helpful way to teach our team proper dining skills, courtesies and workplace dress and behavior. Lynda Jean presents an informative, pleasant and very useful set of skills that we all enjoyed and learned from. I highly recommend her tutorial as both introductory training and on-going refresher courses for everyone from new employees to Senior Executives. Her course includes both an e-book and reference guide as excellent take-aways.

Lynda Jean's recent Professional Etiquette Presentation to law students at William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, was invaluable and very appropriate for our students preparing to work in the field of law. Legal profession employers seek graduates who not only possess strong legal skills but are also able to demonstrate professional presence. Lynda's presentation provided the necessary building blocks for our current students and recent graduates to understand the process of becoming a successful lawyer.

Toronto Image Consultant
Why work with an Image Consultant in Toronto?
There’s no right or wrong reason to work with an Image Consultant — I have clients who want to turn heads every time they enter a room, and break ankles when they’re walking down the sidewalk; some people want to command attention, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Likewise, I have clients at the opposite end of the spectrum, who just want to be seen for the first time and need a fresh look.
As a certified image consultant in Toronto since 2007, I’ve seen some tremendous results with my clients, and what I’ve always found to be fascinating is their different backgrounds, needs, and how their lives change after we work together. Some clients need more assistance than others, but there’s no shame in needing help because everyone deserves to feel beautiful on the inside and out.
Enhancing your image is absolutely something that can be learned with the right guidance from a creative, experienced and objective professional. The goal of my services is to give clients a path forward, so that they can make these decisions for themselves in the future.
What I always strive to achieve is not simply to dress you up to look your best, but to find the look that truly represents who you are. You should look great but also be confident and comfortable with your look.
Is a Toronto Image Consultant right for me?
My objective as your Image Consultant is first and foremost to enhance your presence, communication, confidence and natural beauty. But there are additional benefits too. While some people might view an Image Consultant as an additional cost, the time that’s saved by working with me, and the purchases you avoid by using my knowledge of your right colours and styles will not only lead to savings, but they’ll prevent future headaches and reduce the amount of time you spend in front of the mirror in the morning.
If you struggle with your image, and desire to be more confident in your daily life, I can help instill this confidence. Buying an outfit is a one-time purchase, but the knowledge you’ll gain from our session will last a lifetime.
How exactly do I save time and money?
Take a look at your closet. Count the number of items you wear; vs. the ones you don’t wear or have worn only once or twice. With the right guidance from a certified image consultant, you’ll stop wasting money on clothes that you neglect or seldom wear. You will also shop with confidence and not be misled by sales people working on commission.
Most of us only wear about 20% of our wardrobe. After working with you, that number will go up to at least 90%. As far as the worth of your personal time, that’s for you to determine. But you’ll have more time to spend with your family and friends and engage in activities or hobbies — and I believe that’s invaluable!
Plus, the confidence that comes with knowing that your style has been enhanced by a professional. It’s hard to quantify what that’s worth, but it’s certainly worth something.
Why work with me?
My academic training led me to want to help people become the best that they can be. I achieved a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work, and while counselling clients I became aware of how our appearance affects how we feel about ourselves and how we are perceived. This clinical knowledge has equipped me with the skills to make a difference. When this occurs, we feel great, our self-esteem is elevated, and we progress to places we could not have imagined.
As an example, a bright, hard-working employee may not be recognized for their hard work due to their unprofessional appearance; it’s a shame that something as simple as appearance could prevent one from a promotion or from reaching their potential, and yet these things happen all the time in the business world.
You have the right to be happy and to enjoy the opportunities that life has to offer. These opportunities, unfortunately, are not always distributed to the people who have earned them justly, thus it’s important to give yourself every advantage possible.
An individual with confidence, presence and who is well dressed will naturally command the attention of others. They’ll be listened to and taken more seriously than even a superior performing colleague who’s poorly groomed. That’s not to make light of personal achievements, rather to note that by having a professional image and presence, your bosses and colleagues are more likely to notice you and appreciate your ideas.
As human beings, this is the way most of us are wired. We like to look at nice images. It’s not always fair, but often it’s the reality we live in. Since we can’t change this, why not take the lead and learn how to enhance your image to its’ fullest?
We’ve all heard how important first impressions are, and it’s absolutely true — there’s a lot of research to support this. First impressions are made within a few seconds, and you only get one chance to make a great first impression. By working with me, we’ll make sure that all of your first impressions leave a lasting and permanent image.
What does an Image Consultant do?
Since I’ve always had an eye for detail and creativity in my DNA, I decided to take the courses and exams to become a Certified Image Consultant (CIC). These were achieved through the Association of Image Consultants International (aIci.org) and the International Image Institute. My goals are the same as they were as a Social Worker — to teach people to be the best that they can be to reach their goals and feel good about themselves.
To become a certified image consultant, I studied the theory and practise of personal services such as the Colour Analysis, Body/Style Analysis, how to do a Wardrobe Audit and Personal Shopping. Other important studies included social and professional etiquette and dining skills. I also studied the positive impact of appropriate social and business behaviour and effective communication.
Image is about more than just your look — and we’re all judged by more than just our appearance. Your image begins with a first impression but extends to your behavior and etiquette. Our image sets the table, but in order to create a truly positive image, our behavior and etiquette must be in line with our look. An Image consultant can give you the complete package.
Who benefits from Image Consultant services?
People of all ages benefit from Image Consulting, because who doesn’t want to look and feel their best? My youngest client was 16 and my oldest client was 89. Both of them had the same goals — to feel empowered and to be able to create an appearance that would enhance their natural beauty.
Here are some of the types of individuals with whom I have worked:
Business Savvy - “I want to understand business protocol and be aware of the expectations in the business world.”
Style Knowledge - “I want to learn about the styles and colours that work best for me.”
Weight - “I want to learn how to strategically dress my body to enhance my best features and take attention away from the least.”

Wallflowers —“I feel overlooked and sometimes invisible.”
Business Professionals — “I’m good at what I do, but to climb the ladder in my company I need to improve my presence.”
Newly Single — “After a 10 year marriage I’m back in the dating scene and feel a bit lost! I’d like to refresh my wardrobe and appearance. I want to find someone special.”
Confident Diner - “I want to be able to dine with confidence in both social and professional settings.”
Body Language - “I want to learn more about body language and how I am perceived.”
Feel Proud - “I want to feel whole again — proud of who I am and how I look.”
Shop Smart -“I want to stop wasting money on impulse purchases, sales and constant disappointment.”
